Free 7-day meal plan for beginners (UK)
Starting to eat better is simple in theory — eat well, move more — but the moment you actually try, it gets overwhelming. What do you buy? How much? What counts as "healthy" anyway? Most plans online are either aimed at bodybuilders or packed with ingredients you'd need a health-food shop to find.
This one isn't. It's a straightforward 7-day meal plan built for a normal UK week, using food you can get in any supermarket. No weighing scales, no complicated macros, no misery. Just a sensible starting point you can actually stick to.
Who this plan is for
This is for you if you're new to eating well, want more energy, or want to gently lose a bit of weight without going on some extreme diet. It's balanced rather than restrictive — because the plan you can keep doing beats the "perfect" plan you quit in three days.
If you'd rather have a plan built around your body, goals and food preferences, we do that too — get your free personalised 7-day plan here. But if you just want somewhere to start today, read on.
A few ground rules first
Before the plan, three simple habits that matter more than any single meal:
- Drink more water. Most people confuse thirst for hunger. Aim for a large glass with each meal.
- Get protein in every meal. Protein keeps you full and protects muscle. Eggs, chicken, fish, Greek yoghurt, beans — cheap and easy.
- Don't aim for perfect. Miss a day? Have a takeaway? Fine. Get back to it the next meal. Consistency over weeks is what changes things, not any single day.
