Build Me Different vs MyFitnessPal
MyFitnessPal is a brilliant food diary. But a food diary tells you what you ate — it doesn't build your training, set your plan, or tell you what to do next. Here's how the two compare for UK users who want actual coaching, not just tracking.

Where MyFitnessPal is strong
Credit where it's due: MyFitnessPal has one of the biggest food databases in the world, barcode scanning is quick, and the free tier is genuinely useful. If all you want is to log what you eat and keep an eye on calories, it does that job well and millions of people rely on it.
Where it leaves you on your own
The catch is that logging is only half the battle — and arguably the easier half. MyFitnessPal will happily tell you that you ate 1,800 calories, but it won't tell you whether that's right for your goal, what to eat instead, or what to train tomorrow. It's a spreadsheet with a nice interface. The thinking is still left to you.
That's why so many people end up running MyFitnessPal plus a separate workout app plus a plan they found online — three disconnected tools that don't talk to each other.
Where Build Me Different is different
Build Me Different replaces that whole stack with one coach. It sets your calorie and macro targets from your actual goal, builds your training programme, includes its own food logger with barcode scanning, handles cardio and recovery, and — crucially — adapts everything each week based on your progress. And if you're not sure what to do, you just ask the AI coach.
In other words: MyFitnessPal tells you what happened. Build Me Different tells you what to do next — and then adjusts it as you go.
